I was 14 during his rookie season and my dad used to take us up to games at the Big O that year a few times.

There were three big rookies that season: Walker, Delino Deshields and Marquis Grissom. I was able to get Grissom and Deshields autographs at the dugout (also Gary Carter's when the Giants were in town) but Walker was the only one I missed and I really wish I had been able to get him in his rookie season.

He was probably the most popular player in Canada during the early 1990s even as the Blue Jays won the World Series with Roberto Alomar and Joe Carter. He was the only bona fide superstar born in Canada to ever actually play for the Expos (or the Jays for that matter), so he is probably the most popular player ever to take the field in Canadian baseball history.

Way to go, eh!
