Everyone has experiences, opinions, preferences, attitudes, etc., but not everyone takes it to the level of being a racist, bigot, misogynist, etc. There are actually a lot of people (including white people) who do judge a person by the content of their character.

Other things equal, I would rather date a beautiful, young woman, than an elderly, ugly one. Does that fit your definition of "open discrimination?" If so, then I guess you might be right.
