Default SOLD RARE 1910s Anchor Brand Vintage Baseball w/Box

Vintage Anchor Brand J de Beer Boy's Professional Baseball include original box. Box is in poor condition, but makes for a nice display!

From Keyman Collectibles website:

http://keymancollectibles.com/balls/...uebaseball.htm

J. deBeer and Son, Inc. was founded in 1889 by Jacob deBeer, a German Dutch immigrant tanner that began making his own baseballs in a converted barn in Johnstown, N.Y. The Anchor brand was the J. deBeer trademark logo. The company moved from Johnstown, N.Y. to Albany in 1916 and the name was changed to J. deBeer & son. At that point the company started to use the Double Header logo, but the Anchor brand was still used for many years later.

There's not much catalog information available to accurately date Anchor Brand baseballs.

The earliest Anchor Brand baseball logos, have "J de Beer" inside the anchor. Later Anchor Brand baseballs feature "J. deBeer & Son," sometime after the move to Albany.
