Unless global warming results in the earth spiraling toward the sun, solar flares should not require a rider. To date a 93,000,000 mile long solar flare has not been observed, but if I’m wrong, we’ll cross that bridge (to nowhere) at that time.

If you survive in the “new” atmosphrere, the slabs will be fine.
