Sometimes they help me make easy decisions with purchases. I can have a PSA 9, or a 9 (OC) for about 1/6 the price - and it's a card that still would not look out of place in a PSA 7 holder. Yes it may be o/c, but not egregiously so. Sometimes that is a no-brainer.
