52 issues, dated Jan 2, 1889 thru Dec 25, 1889. How does $700 shipped sound?
The bottom of the cover of the Jan 2 issue is missing (below what would be the fold), but besides that they are 99.9% intact.
The pages are fairly brittle, but it's possible to read them if you are careful while turning them. Most are split at would have been the fold, but while flat there is virtually nothing missing, so you can read the stories with minimal (if any) missing words.
There are pictures on 48 of the cover pages (none of the December issues had pictures). The most interesting of which might be that of Hay Wodehouse on the Oct 16 issue.

PS - I'm beginning to clear out some space in my office, so if you have any interest in The Sporting Life, I also have bound issues from Mar 25, 1899 thru Sept 2, 1911, which I will probably be thinking about moving. I also have over 4,000 issues of The Sporting news, including a complete run from 1935 thru 1993, and over 650 issues prior to 1935. And, I have a complete run minus 3 or 4 issues of Baseball Weekly from 1991 thru it ended in 2003. Etc.
