Yeah, the "R" is not close, but the space is limited and the "R" and Bacon's "B" do not look to me like they were written by the same person, i.e. Bacon.
The "uth" looks vaguely plausible. Additional authenticating information (newspaper clippings and photos) came with the score card to confirm that Babe Ruth played golf in a Tournament with Ev Bacon in Bermuda in both 1937 and 1938. I believe this was a practice rounds before the tournament, which explains why the marker and attest blanks are not signed by Bacon and Ruth. Ruth and Bacon were not in the same flight that year, but Ruth did win a trophy in a lower flight than Bacon, who was in the championship flight in 1937.
To be sure, I am expecting a resounding "you gotta be crazy", but I already knew that. I also did not purchase the lot because of the possible "Ruth" sig.
