You will find many Game Used baseballs from games that he has saved. However, this actual baseball was one that HE pitched and RECORDED the LAST OUT of a game on which he recorded a SAVE in 2011 which was his record breaking year.
In fact, only 39 of these baseballs were originally sold through his authorized memorabilia representatives at Steiner Sports.
During the 2011 season, Mariano kept each final out baseball from his 559th save thru 598th save as he closed in on the record 602. He then released these balls to Steiner and signed and inscribed each with the inscription of "Road to 602, 11 Last Out"
Steiner Hologram is affixed as well as PSA. MEARS also authenticated the baseball which firmly describes the use of the ball as being used to record the last out of one of Rivera's saves in 2011.
