Consignors don't want it to stay open as long as possible, they want the most money for their item. They don't care when it closes.
If consignors want to stay it open as long as possible then keep it open until 8 or 9 am the next day. Then those of us who wake up can jump back in, thus more money for the consignor.
I just don't get why you wouldn't want the max # of bidders awake rather then asleep.
Still waiting for someone to say why middle of the night when most are asleep is better. If there is a legit reason that makes sense I'd love to hear it.
