Harper's Woodcuts
" One collectible form this era that is gaining in popularity are prints that could be found regularly in a weekly tabloid, between the years (1859) and 1890."
"These prints are known as 'woodcuts' as they were printed from designs cut into wood blocks."

Specific Item description (page 105):

The First League Game of Baseball if the Season. April 27, 1889, page 328, 9-1/2" x 14", This full page woodcut has a montage of drawings, the wording 'New York versus Boston' in the middle and inset photos of 6 New York players in the upper right. (players shown in inset photos are: Tiernan, Welch, Keefe, Ewing, Ward and Whitney).
