Fs-alexander Cartwright letterpress letter
Fs here is a very cool letterpress letter dated December 1874 from the archives of Alexander Cartwright... a letterpress was commonly used by Cartwright and served as means of recording his correspondence... he would write his outgoing letter, place a piece of onion skin paper over it, and then put a press over it so that the ink would bleed through... the stock is extremely fragile, so I don't believe that many of these have survived... if you don't have the money to spend on a True Cartwright auto, this is a good alternative... I will also include the matte and backing in the photo.
