Offered here for sale is quite possibly the finest, non-game used Tris Speaker baseball bat extant!
This is a c. 1918, Louisville Slugger, Pro Model 125, that is 36" and reflects the early signature style endorsement of the legendary Boston American outfielder and original Hall of Famer.
Additionally, this piece is also marked with the desirable YMCA logo which identifies it as a game model bat. Bats similarly marked were pulled from the Louisville Slugger factory and used for recreational purposes by American Servicemen during WWI. Had it not been used for this purpose, it would likely have been used by the Grey Eagle himself.
This bat is a robust 36" in length and in outstanding condition. For the sake of full disclosure, a small crack to the handle was professionally repaired by master craftsman, Fred Lowman, and it in no way detracts from the appeal of the piece...in fact, the area in question is virtually un-noticeable. All other aspects of the bat...the knob, the barrel, the end, etc., are in impeccable condition.
This piece is a "must have" item for any serious Boston collector, or anyone who collects vintage bats.
PRICE: $2750 (OBO) which includes USPS Insured shipping.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or for additional pics...we'll be happy to provide them all.
Thanks,
Jon
