Dutch Auction Experiment: Lot of 11 Rare 1954-55 Baltimore Zipcards All SGC Graded
I've always wondered how a Dutch Auction would work on here, so let's give it a try.
Price begins at $250 ppd. Every night (around 10:00pm central) I'll drop the price by $5 until someone replies "SOLD!" In other words, the longer you wait, the greater the chance that someone else will win the lot. No skipping bid increments or off-board deals on this lot.
Any questions, please ask.
Thanks,
Tom

The Standard Catalog describes these like this: "Given the homemade appearance of these, it must be surmised that they were an early collectors' issue. It is possible they date from as early as 1956, only a few years after the Orioles joined the American League. Cards are found in three formats. One type measures about 2" x 2-5/8" (all measurements are approximate due to the hand-cut nature of the cards) and is printed on thin yellow cardboard. They feature a chest-to-cap black-and-white circular player photo at center. A second type is about 2-3/4" x 3-5/8", black-and-white, with square portrait or posed action photos and 'BALTIMORE' at top in what appears to be a picture of an embossed plastic Dymo label maker strip. The third type is also about 2-3/4" x 3-5/8" and is similar in design to the Dymo-label format, except 'Baltimore' is printed at top in a serifed italic typeface. All cards are blank-backed."
