Hi-
I recently acquired a small lot of autographs of various players from the 1910s. The coolest part is that a lot of them are on period photos and according to letters that accompany the photos, some came directly from the player's scrapbook. Apparently, a father sent letters to these players in the 1950s/60s and asked them to send an autographed photo for his sons.
There are no hall of famers in the group and all lived at least through the 1950s so their signatures are fairly common but I believe the signed photos are much harder to come by. I will list them alphabetically over the next few days along with scans of the photo, letter, etc. Please let me know if you need better scans, have questions, or wish to purchase any of these.
Thanks,
Alan

SOLD 1. Scotty (Forbes) Alcock autographed studio photo (CA Myers SF Cal so possibly taken a year or two before or after his stint with the Sox). Played for the White Sox for one season in 1914.

2. Pete Appleton autographed photo and 3x5 card (I am not sure when the photo is from as it has a blank back. It does have Appleton's name at the top and then his name and address again at the bottom which looks to be in his hand). Played for the Senators, Red Sox, and a few other teams in the 20s-30s.
