1934 Detroit Tiger team photos- RARE - PRICE REDUCED
I posted these in the group awhile ago looking for information and value on them. After talking to a few people who work with different reputable auction houses I feel comfortable listing them for sale now.
What I have been able to come up with is these are photos of the 1934 Detroit Tigers. These photos were either mailed to the person or they were part of a special World Series section of the newspaper and the person then cut them out and put them on the cardboard backing. The pictures are not glued or tapped on the cardboard. They are held on by the photo corners. They could easily be removed if someone wanted to do so.
The only player that is missing is Cochrane. All the other stars are there, Hank Greenberg, School Boy, Gehringer, Fox, Goslin, ect. Only 2 of the photos have issues. One has small tears along the side and the other has been ripped and tapped back together. Both of the photos that have damage are common players. All of the other photos are in excellent condition. I also have the original envelope the pictures or insert came in.
Based on all the information I received from the auction houses, the condition and rarity of these photos plus information from other members I feel these photos are worth around $800. I however did not pay this much for them and would just like to get my money back from them. I planned on putting them all in a nice photo album for display but have lost motivation for the project.
I am asking $500 OBO for the entire lot. I will try to answer any questions the best I can.
