1947 Dan Bankhead type 1 (6x8) photograph. This historic photo was taken the day of his signing a contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He became the first black pitcher in major league baseball history. The photo was taken by Herb Scharfman Brooklyn Dodgers staff photographer. Please read the original caption sheet attached to back for more details. Also was Jackie Robinsons roommate ..Comes with all original stamping shown on reverse. Photo was taken at Ebbets Field. This photo is a piece of baseball history and should in Cooperstown. Just a fabulous depiction with 2 children getting autographs.
