Is it heavy or relatively light?

The 1910 Galvano originals were basically chalk statues dipped in a gilt "coating". So they are much lighter in weight than a heavy bronze statue.

Most of the newer bronzes are attached to a marble base.... so it's a good sign that this one is not. The bronze repros were very well done, so it is tough to tell just from the provided picture. Best way to tell is by the weight and also the galvano will be softer to the touch than the newer bronze versions.

If indeed original (and no cracks/chips/restoration) then that's a fair price. If it's the mid-century reproduction, it's worth about $350 - $400.

Best of luck!
