Some overkill is good, no doubt. But too much just adds expense.

Persoanlly, having worked shipping a lot of stuff that was heavy for the size. Like 20+LBS in a box that was 10x10 x10. And knowing that with the PO, basically everything goes in a bin and you don't get to choose if the package on top of yours is a pillow or a lead brick I'd really prefer seeing stuff overpacked.
