Here is issue #40 of Card Collector's Bulletin, dated February 1, 1946, with a cover story by Jefferson Burdick about the soon-to-be-published 1946 edition of the American Card Catalog, which introduced the classification system we known today (T205, T206, etc.). There are ads by several well-known collectors (Lionel Carter, Jake Wise, Wirt Gammon, John Wagner), using the old classification system, in which the set we know as T206 was #521. Note that Gammon was offering $2 each for what we know as T208s, T215s, T4s (Obak premiums), and H801-7s (Old Mill premiums). I wonder if he got any? It's also fun to look at the auction, which included 1132 damaged T206s with an estimated price of $45.28, 200 Obaks with an estimated price of $12.06, etc.
