Jeff, terrific story, and I feel with your experience and reacquired love for the cards your dad kept in the garage, you will be a great fit on this board. Welcome! I, too, am a life long Yankees fan but more the Mantle/ Maris/ Ford era than Mattingly, who, in my opinion, is doing a terrific job managing the Marlins with a scrappy squad.
