Default FS 1945 Negro League Stock Cert Brooklyn Brown Dodgers

Mint $1100 Check out the Raised seal....neat item In 1945, Branch Rickey, general manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, announced the formation of the United States League, a league whose sole purpose was the " warehousing" of Negro Leaguers, in order to ease their transition into the Big Leagues. Rickey's club was to be the Brooklyn Brown Dodgers, and he hired legendary Hall of Famer, Oscar Charleston, to manage the club. When Dodger scouts were sent to the Negro Leagues to scout black players, they were under the impression they would eventually be playing for the Brooklyn Brown Dodgers. The stock certificate is issued to Joseph W. Hall, who also happened to be the Brooklyn Brown Dodgers President. The stock is dated June 19, 1945, features the raised Brooklyn Brown Dodgers seal and is signed by Joseph Hall and counter-signed by Dolores Hall. The certificate has the appropriate folds and is in awesome shape. A historically significant item which not only appeals to the Brooklyn Dodger, Negro League, or Jackie Robinson collector, but also proves the elusive team's existence. That's only $5.50 a share ha ha
