Yup, that is 100% true! I bought a batting practice jersey, and he had what are probably ibuprofin (horse sized) pills.

Apparently steroids users use these to thin their blood so steroids can take affect quicker or something like that. So while it wasn't 'roids ... it was the next best thing
When I went to his house and showed him the jersey, I had him sign it. I showed him a picture of him wearing it for provenance sake, and later he showed me some video clips. One of which was an interview that he did while wearing the batting practice jersey I had him sign. He said "Yes, that's definitely the same jersey."
