Hey Everyone,
It's that time of the year again in Chicago, the Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Chicago. For the past three year's I've taken the plunge into the frigid water of Lake Michigan with a group of friends raising money for the Special Olympics.
Many people ask me, why do you plunge?
-It's fun. Hard to believe I'm sure, but it truly is one of the most fun events of the year
-The positive energy you share with your screaming teammates and those in attendance is rejuvenating, as is the cold water.
-It's really not that cold
-Special Olympics Chicago needs us. The Polar Plunge raises 75% of the SOC's annual funding. Without the Polar Plunge, 5,500 of Chicago's best athletes wouldn't have as many opportunities to show how talented they are.
-It's a great reason to take the following day off from work!
This year's auction item is one I acquired a year ago via a B&L Auction after perhaps consuming a little too much whiskey and bidding early in the morning. Up for auction is a 1909-11 era Cy Young printer's scrap. More details on the auction are here:

Starting bid is $50. Winning bidder will simply make their pay their winning directly to the fundraising page noted below and I will ship their winnings soon thereafter. If you're willing to make a straight donation, I won't be able to thank you enough. Auction ends Sunday, February 14th at midnight. Winner will be notified on Monday, February 15th.
Thank you for supporting me and the Special Olympics Chicago! Thank you to Leon for letting me post this auction, and for everyone's additional support for the past couple years.
