He probably thought they were from (or associated with) an early candy or gum series or he made a mistake. He will always be the Grandfather of the Hobby but he was still
human.

That gives us a clue, without further research, he was unaware of where they came from. In his last version of the ACC ( I will have to check the previous ones) he didn't use the name "
Kashin" only "
