Default SOLD! 1967 New York Yankees Game Worn Road Jersey

RARE 1967 New York Yankees Game Worn Jersey Ross Moschitto (MEARS LOA)

For those of you unaware of the infamous Ross Moschitto, some tidbits:

Ross Moschitto's nicknames: Mantle's Caddy, Mickey's Legs

"Ross spent most of his 2-year big league career sitting on the bench, pinch running for Mickey Mantle if the aging slugger got on base in his last at bat or taking his spot in the outfield if the Mick made an out.

In his tenure with the Yankees (1965-67), Moschitto hit one homer, at the old Yankee Stadium. He remembers it well, nearly 50 years later. “I hit if off Jim Perry (brother of famed Gaylord), and we still joke about it,” Moschitto says, with a twinkle in his eyes. “You remember the M&M Boys? Mantle and Maris? Well in that game, not only did they homer, but I homered too. One writer wrote, “the M&M&M boys.

Ross Moschitto is the name most often mentioned by lukewarm Yankee fans who are my age, when they are trying to convince someone else how big a Yankee fan they are. I’m not sure why but that’s just the way it is. They don’t mention Frank Tepedino or Steve Whitaker or Roger Repoz. Its always Moschitto. He has to be the most famous non-famous Yankee in pinstripe history.”

Offered is a New York Yankees road jersey dating to Ross Moschitto's 1967 season with the team. MacGregor size 42 tag sewn in collar with an 11 box tag while MacGregor laundry instructions & a Set 1 1967 tag are sewn to the inner button placket. "New York" is sewn across the chest of the grey flannel jersey in navy felt with Moschitto's number 53 sewn on the reverse in the same manner. A faded "67" is also written on the left tail. Moderate to heavy wear shown.

Some other 1960’s Yankees Jerseys currently on the market:

So if you can't quite afford a Mantle jersey, at 100K plus own the next best thing the same jersey the Mick wore in the 1960's just a teammate, and being
Mickey's "legs" and pinch runner, you can bet he would handshake or pat Ross (this jersey) on the back as Mickey ran off the field and Ross took his
spot!!!

And as a bonus you get 2 great Yankee numbers on the back of this Jersey, 5-Dimaggio and 3-Ruth. : )
