You didn't ask, so please forgive my arrogance in making the suggestion, but if I were you I would probably get a table at a show and aggressively price the stuff that was massively overproduced. FWIW, I have seen full 1988 Score factory sets for $1 at shows …$8 for a case of 12. You could also probably make a good case for donating them to goodwill for a tax deduction. Probably 15% of the stuff is worth 85% of the money out of your lot. As a guy who has been spending a lot of time clearing out his bad purchases from the 80s and 90s, I can tell you that it's tough to find someone looking to pay even $10 for a 1987 Topps set…
Another possibility is to find a mall store and consign the stuff that is difficult to sell at a very liberal commission. An antique store may also work, but they don't get the traffic you need to move a meaningful quantity.
