I would like to chime in with regard to the niche of custom cards, otherwise known as fantasy cards. Succinctly put, I love them. They will likely never rise in value; nevertheless, the emotional and visual reward they have given me has been well worth the time and effort I put into crafting them. Some of them I have made with hired help. It was very costly. Be that as it may, the end result was stunning and utter joy to me, and, truth be told---unusually fulfilling. The latter I'm referring to were done in conjunction with my book on postwar regional / food issues, NEVER CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN. With the vital assistance of a computer graphic artist, I lovingly created fantasy 1954 Wilson Franks cards of Mickey Mantle and Jackie Robinson. I absolutely love them. Naturally, I had printed on the backsides, in an innocuous spot, the year they were printed.

Must go. Fantasy cards complement my vintage card collection nicely, what's left of it.

Kind regards, Brian Powell
