The photo is not a TYPE I photo but a Type III. I know because I owned it at one time. I showed it to Yee at PSA and he confirmed it a Type III 20s example. He also sold it for me back then.

I own the original of the photo that has the correct International stamp (pre-International News) on the reverse and would easily go for 20k and up. The clarity of the two photos are not close in comparison.

If this was a type 1, it would have went for a lot more...believe me

The photo in question is a TYPE III and was made by Brown Brothera off of a duplicate/copy negative. It is a copy of the photo. It lacks the clarity and you can see the editorial markings as well as the Ruth name at the bottom embedded in the image as opposed to on the photo.

That said, not a bad buy at all(about what I sold it for5 years ago or a little less). I still think it is a 1-2k photo though imo. The days of finding 20k photos for 500 dollars on eBay are over.. At least ones of babe Ruth.
