1903/1904 Spalding scorebook that contains dozens of scored games, including two games against the barnstorming Negro Cuban Giants. Very early material for one of the early Pre-Negro League teams.
The scorebook belonged to William F. O'Connell, Corning N.Y. and includes an imprint of his name on the front of the scorebook along with "Compliments of A.G. Spalding & Bros.". O'Connell was apparently the official scorer for the local powerhouse Corning team. Scorebook also includes a game against the Chicago Cubs and another against the Chicago White Sox.The scorebook includes 100 scored games against local teams as well as the games mentioned above. There are also a handful of Corning High School games. Repaired spine otherwise in good condition.
