I've had a couple Milton Bradley back questions as of late, so I thought I provide a photo illustrating the differences in color. Its always good to have a standard 68 on hand for comparison. Once in hand, they become easy to identify when knowing what to look for.
The cards in the top row will all be Milton Bradley's, while the bottom row will be all standard 68 Topps. You'll notice the MB cards arent exactly the same across the board. Both the Houston Rookies card and the Gibson card show the brighter canary color, while the Checklist and Downing card show a darker mustard color. The color of both cards are within the yellow spectrum, but different in the amount of yellow content . The gold or orange spectrum as you see on bottom is the only color you'll see for the standard backs in Series 1 and 2. The MB Downing and Checklist cards more closely resemble the standard backs of the bottom row, but if you look at the two ovals containing the bio and cartoon, there is a big difference. The MB ovals are very "dingy" or "dirty" compared to the off white ovals of the standard cards.
Hopefully this helps clear up some confusion. The 68's tend to have a few different colors in the latter series, but the MB's were only included in Series 1 and 2. The latter series "yellow card" colors were distributed approx 50/50 and are very common. If you have any questions I'd be glad to help!
