Stay positive, Josh. I, too, lost a parent (my father) to cancer. He had Stage 4 Mantle Cell Lymphoma and finally lost his battle after 10-months of fighting on August 30, 2015.
While the grieving process is fresh, my best advice is to spend the most time you can together or call when possible. My father was 58 and there isn't a day that goes by the I don't wish I had 1-more fishing trip together.
Remember that we must all make life's journey, but enjoy every lasting memory forever! Do not hold back any feelings while you two are together.
