I have seen tickets with tape slabbed as authentic, signed cards slabbed as authentic (dual meaning I guess for auto and card grade), and I've attached an example of a Ruth with tape slabbed as Authentic (with apologies to whomever owns the Ruth). So yes, they will.

If it does not bother you, I guess go for it. As for me, I would prefer the card without tape. Have you tried SGC or Beckett? BVG has an insert that would enclose the card (further protection) and then it is slabbed so they might be a good choice as well.
