Default Super Specialists:

In this age of lengthy bullpens, certain statistics become very strange:

For the longest time, I thought that Tony Fossas would be the all-time leader in fewest innings per game appearance with 415.2 innings in 567 games.

However, today's group of lefty-vs-lefty specialists have spawned at least two who out-do Tony:

Randy Choate with 392 innings squeezed into just 629 games &

Javier Lopez has crammed 485 innings into 724 appearances.

They should invent an award for these guys. Call it the 'John Caliperi One and You're Done' Award.

Question: Why do you suppose there aren't any righty-vs-righty specialists? It only seems logical since the majority of hitters are right-handed.
