Thanks Chris, that helped me solve the mystery. I now know definitively what the postcards depict. It is the 1910 University of Chicago team playing Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan where they won all three games.

I found a copy of the May 1911 Cap and Gown for the University of Chicago. In the "Invasion of the East" article it describes the games and the trip. Best of all the article, on page 2, has the EXACT photo that is used in one of my postcards. It has Sunderland written on it. Sunderland was a pitcher for Chicago and won that game.

Thanks everyone, I never thought I could establish what these were with 100% certainty. Things like this are what makes the hobby fun!
