He says he uses "graded values", not book values. If you're not sure what that means, he directs you to his eBay profile page, where there is this explanation:

"Graded cards are so much more valuable than just a plain card coming from a pack. My pic shows examples. 1970 Pete Rose in Beckett values at $60, but graded it jumped to $5,676. All of my cards are labeled with graded values not book values."
