Default FS: Julio Bonetti, John Douglas (Tough 47 Brooklyn), Chad Kimsey

Some tremendously tough signatures for sale.

Julio Bonetti (D. 1952 at age 40) was a right-handed pitcher for the St. Louis Browns and Chicago Cubs. He is one of only six Italian-born Major League Baseball players in history. Bonetti made his major league debut with the Browns on April 22, 1937. He became a versatile pitcher for the lowly Browns that season, pitching in 12 games out of the bullpen (notching one save) and starting 16 others, seven of which he completed. His contract was purchased by the Cubs in February 1939, and after some time in the minors, Bonetti worked his way onto the Cubs roster in April 1940. Unfortunately, his Cub debut, which came three years to the day after his major league debut, was disastrous. Bonetti allowed three runs on three hits and four walks in just 1 1/3 innings for an ERA of 20.25. He never pitched in the major leagues again. We offer a signed lined page that has been attached to an album page. Also signed by his 1938 Browns teammates - Eddie Cole (D. 1999) and Tom Heath (D. 1967). Rare piece! $95 delivered

John Douglas (D. 1984) played a total of 5 games from the 1945 Brooklyn Dodgers. He passed away in 1984 at the age of 66. His autograph is seldom seen and is often on the lists of Brooklyn Dodgers autograph collectors. We offer a 7” x 10” lined page from a kid’s autograph album signed by 5 players including Douglas who were members of the Boston Red Sox. The book originates from a 1949 scrapbook. Douglas at the time was part of the Red Sox minor league system. Also signed by Joe Dobson, Chuck Stobbs, Gordon Mueller, and Tom Wright. Tough!!! $40 delivered

Chad Kimsey (D 1942 at age 36 in a tragic car accident) played in the big leagues from 1929-36 for the Browns, White Sox, and Tigers. We offer a page from a scrapbook signed by Kimsey in black steel tipped pen by his picture. It also comes with pictures of Bill Killefer Jr (son of Bill Killefer). On the verso of the page is an article about Dick Coffman that has been signed by Coffman (D. 1972) who played for the Senators, Browns, NY Giants, Braves, and the Phillies. Tough autographs . $85 delivered

Thanks for looking
