By the time they got the ball back, there would have been more like 45 seconds and the ball probably would have been at their 20. Did you see the first Super Bowl against the Giants? They supposedly had time for a final drive in that game and ended up heaving the ball at the end. I'm glad Belichick played it the way he did.
