Default Funny(?) 1969 Topps Observation...

I saw this 1969 Chris Cannizzaro card while searching on ebay and thought, "Hey, that looks like a Mets jersey." And further reasoned, "Wait, that's not Shea Stadium. It's the frickin' Polo Grounds."

After some quick research, I found that Cannizzaro did play for the Mets earlier in his career. Since Shea opened for business at the beginning of the 1964 season, it means this photo was taken during 1963 at the very latest, and quite possibly earlier (as he was a part of the team in 1962). I know we've often brought up instances of Topps reusing photos of players in different years, but using a 6 year old photo of a scrub?? They didn't have anything else?? It's funny. In real life, that would be like using a photograph of you from junior high school as your 'official' college picture.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.
