There are no inch marks on the knob, confirming that the bat was NOT a store model, and was issued to a professional player, almost certainly Jake Daubert himself. Many people are not aware that Daubert was a star player during the deadball era, winning National League batting titles in 1913 and 1914, and the Chalmers Award as the league's best player in 1914 while with Brooklyn.
