Murphy was absolutely fantastic to fans when he was here in Texas. If you have the privilege of being located in whatever geographic region where he plays now, just go talk to him before a game, or when he is arriving at the stadium, and if you are sincere in your fandom, and do it a few times without bugging him for something, then on the 5th or 6th time, ask him for a bat or something and I wouldn't be surprised if he gives you one.

Many times he'd stop and ask if any of us needed anything signed that day. A lot of times we'd just say no and talk for a bit.

Great guy. I've even seen him go to Fellowship of Christian Athletes events that co-autograph seekers have asked him to attend, and have seen him go to speak to youth groups, churches etc., when asked by autograph seekers. Have also seen him give away his batting gloves, and bat to some of the group that goes every day when requested.

Main thing is like anything else in life, be courteous, respectful, and sincere and he might hook you up.
