As a newbie to 19th century, it'd be worth a short-term subscription to VCP to see actual sales prices on various cards from the era, so you can learn what to expect to pay. You'll save a heck of a lot more than the few bucks it costs for VCP access, if you know what to pay for purchases!

I subscribed to VCP for a month mainly for 19th Century. There are very few 19th century cards priced on the site. Not worth it in my opinion. Joe
