Rufus Nolley
According to the May 28, 1910 edition of Sporting Life, p. 21:
"Montgomery, Ala., May 18.-Editor "Sporting Life."-In accordance with the League rule, the local club is now down to the player limit. Rufus Nolley drew the pink slip owing to lack of condition...".
The November 5, 1910 edition of Sporting Life, p. 15, does not list Nolley in Pitching stats, but does have him in the Fielding stats:
"Nolley, Montgomery 7 (games) 5 (putouts) 27 (attempts) 5 (errors) .857 (pct.)"
Undoubtedly Nolley pitched in 7 games for Montgomery before being released, then picked up by Savannah of the South Atlantic League, as the November 26, 1910 edition of Sporting Life, p. 10 lists him in both Fielding and Pitching stats:
"Nolley, Savannah 24 (games) 9 (putouts) 66 (attempts) 9 (errors) .893 (pct.)" and
"Nolley, Savannah 24 (games) 19 (wins) 3 (losses) 0 (ties) .864 (pct.)"
I suppose Rufus worked himself back into shape...
