Default NFL & MLB games

FB

September 24, 1972, four of us drove down to Memorial Stadium (Balt.) to see a Jets game. In those days all tickets at Shea were sold out. So, us diehard Jets fans
would drive to Baltimore or Foxboro (Mass.) to catch a Jets game.

Anyhow, this was really one wild passing game......Joe Namath threw for 496 yards and Johnny Unitas threw for 376 yards. The Jets won it by the score of 44 - 34.
It was certainly the greatest NFL game that I was ever at; and, it was well worth the trip from the Jersey Shore. Plus, got to see my all-time favorites, Don Maynard
and John Riggins, catch 28-yard and 67-yard passes, respectively from Broadway Joe.

Still have my ticket stub...... Check-out the $6.60 price....and we had great seats 3 rows up on the 50 yard line.

The absolute greatest sports event that I have seen was the 5th game of the 1956 World Series. Even though I was not at Yankee Stadium that day,
it is still worth noting here. I saw the entire game on TV in the comfort of my folks home in Hillside, NJ.

Don Larsen's 96th (and last) pitch to complete his PERFECT, No-Hit game.
