No. First of all you have to only judge by facial characteristics. The bodies of the E91 players are generic. Just because the artist might be considered stylistically challenged doesn't mean that many of the E91A cards, and about 1/2 of the E91B set, aren't based upon either exact photos as used in other contemporary sets such as T206, M116, E254 etc.
Look at the Kling again. The exact angle of the head, placement of the ear, even his beady little eyes are on par with what is seen on the M116 card. The artist just liked to make his players look a little more "cheruby".
