Hi Mike, swell gift. The box and board are definitely the 1941 edition, the game's first year of production
(the line of text above Allen's name on the lid, and the three spinners (actually two spinners and a dial)
on the gameboard are absolutely diagnostic).

The disk set is the 1942-43 edition. Bloodworth, Campbell, Cullenbine, Lee, Litwhiler, Sisti, and White are all unique to that set
and appear in no other edition (sorry, J, if BGG says otherwise, they're wrong).

Among the 1940s editions, there are further variations to the disk cardstock that can dramatically affect market value
for ASB collectors, but FYI, a 1941 edition with 1941 disks tends to sell for nothing less than around $150.,
and rare variations have topped $500. The 1942-43 edition can sometimes be had for as little as $30.-$40.,
but pristine examples have topped $300., with examples in condition similar to yours typically going for $50.-$100.

The Cadaco All-Star Baseball forum and e-list, despite Yahoo's mangling of the format, is still running strong
(almost 800 members) at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Cadaco...rBaseballGame/
Those guys have more expertise with this specific game than do we, so sign in for free and double-check our info there.
Extremely friendly bunch (really).

Homepage for the group is at our Baseball Games site: http://baseballgames.dreamhosters.com/CadacoASB.htm
