I have never sold an autograph in my life. I have been collecting since I was a kid. My dad worked for a major sporting goods company in the 70' and the 80's and pro athletes bought their golf clubs there at wholesale prices. It was always cool when dad came home and had an autograph for me and my brother. I still have them.
None of my friends or family collects and if they acquire an autograph many times they will just give it to me since they know I collect. I don't think the guy even looked in the box of stuff he recently gave me with the Jeter ball, how he got it is another long story. One of the other balls turned out to be a stamped ball.
Most of my graphs have been TTM successes with the exception of a large collection I acquired (another long story).
Thanks for your opinions, maybe I should have done a brief introduction of myself when I recently signed up. I plan to be active here and havemore to post!
