I'm glad you asked............
1st....my theory regarding why all 60 of these guys are action poses is that these cards were designed and printed at the tail-end of the
350 Series run ..Circa Summer/Fall of 1910.
Remember, American Litho. had printed the portraits of the majority of these guys in their
150 Series and the earlier printings of the
350 Series.
2nd....the
6 super-prints were originally printed in one of the very early press runs of the
350 Series; therefore, Chance, Chase, and Cobb are portrait poses. And, of course, Evers
and Matty portraits were portrayed in the
150 Series.
And then, American Litho. chose to re-print these 6 guys in this group of 66 subjects.
