I've got a 1973 Mets team signed ball with the same signature style. I always thought it was a clubhouse, but it's not like Mays took the clubhouse guy to the Mets with him when he got traded, so, very interesting. I thought I heard once that Murf the equipment manager was the main ghost signer but I'm not sure.
I got a similar response when I posted the Mets ball. No one ventured a guess. I think it's just difficult to make a call on this one. I'll post another pic if I can find it in the trunk.
However given the fact that we have very similar signatures signed 9 years apart with two different teams, I'm starting to feel a little better about mine.
