Default Blue-ifying the 1966 Topps

One thing I find odd about the 1966 Topps set is the decision to replace the natural color of some background areas in certain cards with blue tint. I guess maybe the photographer wanted to mute what were perceived as possible distractions and/or give some sort of 3-D effect to the subject, but I don't recall seeing this much if at all in other sets--maybe others here can post examples. There are many of these throughout the set, although here is the most obvious or extreme example--Eddie Stanky (not mine)

The others allow for some "normal" background before tinting out parts:

Musings on a beautiful Arizona Saturday. Nothing controversial or overly thought provoking, just one of those have you ever wondered why things.
Maybe this has been covered elsewhere. Anyone have examples from other years?
