This subject hasn't been talked about for quite a long time, and with it being
the 116th anniversary of the American Caramel Company I thought I'd start
a thread.
Back in 2008, our very own TedZ wrote an at-length history of the American
Caramel company, with one correction. The American Caramel Company was
established on March 28, 1898, not in 1900.

Had it not been for the E017 Breisch Williams issue of 1903, the American
Caramel Company would have been credited for issuing the first baseball card
set issued since the N300 Old Judge issue. In the Encyclopedia of Baseball
Cards, Lew Lipset uses 1908 as American Caramel's first issue date (E91series.)
Finally, in December, 1953, the American Caramel Company sold all of its remaining
assets to Just Born, Inc. As a result of this purchase Just Born, Inc. owed American
Caramel in excess of $141,000.
With today being an anniversary of sorts, anyone care to post their American
Caramel cards/ephemera item?
